rairie’s Edge John Robert – Hunter 2021

PRAIRIE’S EDGE JOHN ROBERT is a tall, “Look at me!’ plant. The cream self stands out from a distance or in a shaded area. Yellow veins extend through a yellow-green throat to lightly ruffled petal edges. The sepals often do a little twist at the ends. Like its full sibling, METEOR SHOWER, JR boasts northern rebloom. He is an early morning opener and is pod fertile (pollen as yet untested).

JR was selected from my seedling patch by a friend who has an area in her garden for daylilies named after family members. It was grandson #4’s turn to make an appearance in the garden, so this plant was introduced for John Robert.
