Malala Strong – Hunter 2023
A tough daylily honoring a very tough young woman. As a seedling, divisions of Malala Strong visited two consecutive Region 2 summer meetings without missing a beat. This vigorous dormant diploid has 4-5 way branching on 43” tall scapes. All divisions have returned to northern Illinois and are anxious to settle into new ‘digs’.
The 7” bloom is a rhubarb purple blend above a large washed cream and chartreuse eye that extends well out onto both petals and sepals. Fertility hasn’t been tested yet because she was so busy travelling. 😉 2023 UPDATE: Malala stayed home this summer and was a good mama AND daddy!
