Heather’s Hope – Hunter 2020
HEATHER’S HOPE is a pretty plum purple with darker plum veins and a lighter raised rib. She has a slightly darker band above a small yellow throat and green heart. The petals and sepals have a fine white picotee edge. Tall and showy, HEATHER’S HOPE has good branching and substance. She has started to show instant rebloom for me, but like her daddy, needs to be a mature clump to do it reliably. Her mom, on the other hand, is a reblooming machine. Fertility, as yet, is untested, but both parents are fertile both ways, and look at that fluffy gold pollen and perfect pistil!
‘Heather’s Hope’ is the name of the foundation that Heather, together with her family and friends, started before she succumbed to cancer at the young age of 36. Her hope was that others struggling with cancer could get support in their battle. The proceeds from this daylily will do just that.
