Set It Spinning – Hunter 2023
In a clump, this plant looks like a bunch of pinwheels gaily spinning. Tree like branching on 35″ tall scapes allows the large flowers to spread & twist without interference. This was another seedling that demonstrated what a good parent STACK THE DECK is for passing on excellent branching. One of my other 2023 registrations, MALALA STRONG, has the same daddy (pollen parent) and same candelabra branching.
The plum self has a large chartreuse throat that extends out onto the pinched petals and curling sepals. Cream ribs & edges on both petals and sepals accentuate the motion of the bloom. Fertility has not been tested, but pollen looks good. Pod might be a little tricky because of the long pistil, but certainly worth the effort.
