Heather’s Smile – Hunter 2024
The bloom on HEATHER’S SMILE is ivory cream, maturing to near white by the evening. The green throated blossom has lightly ruffled tepals on well branched scapes which form a vigorous clump. Yet another introduction descended from seeds gifted to me by Mike Huben, HEATHER’S SMILE is sibling to THAT LUCKY START THEY TALK ABOUT. A mature clump is a beacon of light that shines during the early part of the bloom season.
HEATHER’S SMILE is a tribute to a dear family member who passed away too young after a courageous battle with cancer. Heather was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her beautiful smile lives on in our hearts. She chose a white bloom for her memorial plant. Appropriately, there are often “angel’s wings” on the petals.
